Executive Assistant / Pastor

The Mission Church of Lexington is currently seeking the Lord’s direction in calling an Executive Assistant (*Executive Pastor, if qualified) to assist the Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor with the overall leadership and direction of church staff, strategic planning, financial oversight, administration, facilities development and upkeep, organizational operations, etc. The Executive Pastor will also serve as a designee for the Senior Pastor as requested.

 

*Pastoral qualifications as defined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

Details

Status:
  • Part-Time Paid- $800 monthly/ $9,600 annually.   
Expected Hours:
  •  Approximately 10 hours per week – outside of scheduled church events/activities.
Qualifications:
  • Agreement and adherence to the Covenant Membership Agreement (see below).
  • Agreement and adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. 
  • Agreement and adherence to the Mission Leadership Team- Expectation Metrics (see below).
Organizational Relationship:
  • The Executive Assistant (Executive Pastor- if qualified) will report directly to the Senior Pastor. 
  • The Executive Pastor will serve as an Elder if Biblically qualified and congregationally affirmed. 
Executive Assistant- Specific Responsibilities:
  •  Work with the church Treasurer and will serve as the Financial Bookkeeper- to include bill paying, payroll, banking, etc. 
  • Assist the Senior Pastor (in consultation with the Treasurer, ministerial staff, Trustees, and MLT) with creating and presenting an annual church budget for church affirmation.
  • Assist the Worship Pastor with technical support (equipment set up, audio/visual elements, support needs).
  • Assist the Administrative Assistant with various tasks- Mission Memo (quarterly newsletter), social media, website, and church administration software.
  • Seek out continued training when and where applicable as time permits.
  • Any of the above noted responsibilities can be modified or changed/removed by the Senior Pastor as the needs of the church and vision dictate. The most important responsibility is to assist shepherding the church and support and assist the Senior Pastor as requested.
Executive Pastor- Specific Responsibilities:
  •  To include all the Executive Assistant Responsibilities as listed above.
  • Support the Senior Pastor in accomplishment of the church’s mission through ministry effectiveness evaluation, discernment, decision making, planning and vision casting. 
  • Champion the development of infrastructure by all ministries and support areas to create healthy and long-term growth of the church.
  • Assist the Senior Pastor in leading in the church building programs, capital fundraising campaigns, planning, designing, contractor selection, and construction oversight. 
  • Develop and maintain a church policy and procedure handbook.
  • Function as the Senior Pastor’s designee working with the Board of Trustees and the Facilities Team Leader.
  • Facilitate leadership development courses, programs, and Bible studies to equip and train other ministry leaders.
  • Provide leadership and ministry in Mission Groups.
  • Provide leadership and ministry in Mission Points.
  • Will have opportunities to preach and teach upon the request and scheduling of the Senior Pastor.
  • Seek out continued pastoral training when and where applicable as time permits.
